Welcome to RegenR8

A transformative school-based programme specifically designed for young rangatahi aged 13 to 17 who have faced or witnessed various forms of abuse such as bullying, family harm, domestic violence, or have gone through traumatic experiences like the loss of a loved one or suicide. These events continue to impact their lives in significant ways.

The RegenR8 programme provides a safe and supportive environment where young individuals can explore their past experiences and gain clarity on how these events have shaped them.

We delve into the ways in which these experiences can influence their behaviour, thoughts, relationships, self-perception, and beliefs across different aspects of life: their physical well-being (tinana), spirituality (wairua), family and social connections (whānau), mental well-being (hinengaro) and personal empowerment (mana).

Our primary objective is to increase their understanding of the profound effects of trauma and equip them with effective coping mechanisms and strategies to navigate their everyday lives.

Programme purpose

Enhance awareness of the impact of trauma on rangatahi.
Assist in developing new skills and strategies to navigate life after a traumatic experience.
Strengthen resilience to cope with everyday challenges.

We aspire to

Help rangatahi understand the signs and impacts of trauma on their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Equip rangatahi with the tools, strengths, and strategies to effectively address traumatic experiences.
Empower rangatahi to seek support and serve as role models to their peers, colleagues, and others in their community (tuākana/teina).

Our programme has had tremendous success across schools in Counties Manukau. Join us today and allow your students affected by trauma to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment. Together, we can reshape the effects of trauma and cultivate a brighter future for the next generation.
